Learning how to shoot when it's 108 out builds confidence, especially when certified Expert by the USMC. A 2.5 mile run home from the range, in boots and ute's, carrying 65 lbs of gear, builds character. Ending range week with a 6 mile hike starting at midnight with 100 lbs of gear, is just the USMC way. This places crazy.
We've spent the last 3 weeks learning how to kill from 500 meters away to 2 inches away. And I'm only an attorney! I wouldn't have it any other way. Meanwhile, I'm tired. Combat fitness test tomorrow at 0615. It's a burner. Therefore, I'm off to bed. Rest easily.

Update
I've picked up as a summer-funner in a legal shop aboard a USMC installation. It's a great program, bringing us legal eagles back on active duty to practice what our future jobs will be. I typically represent the government as the command tries to fire a Marine during an administrative separation hearing.
In just over four weeks, I'll start the Basic Officer's Course at The Basic School. It's a six-month period of instruction that's divided between the class room and the field.
In other news, I've found some local fishing spots. Here's a shad caught on the fly. Will update more soon. Thanks!
